The Recycle Challenge ENGAGING communities to recycle, repurpose and upcycle trash into 100 paper dresses, suits & wearable art headpieces.

We thrive to present a vibrant, eco-conscious fashion competition aimed at pushing the boundaries of sustainable art and design. This event brings together artists, fashion designers, and creators from various backgrounds to craft imaginative clothing and accessories entirely from paper and other recyclable materials. The challenge is not only a celebration of creativity but also a statement on sustainability, urging participants to rethink conventional fashion by turning what is often considered "waste" into wearable art.

100 Paper Dresses, Suits, and Wearable Hat Pieces is a unique challenge and competition that invites creatives to design stunning, eco-friendly fashion pieces made entirely from paper and recyclable materials. Here's The Most Frequest Questions. FAQ 1. How many submissions can I present? For fashion presentation entry fee is $50.00 for 1 to 3 submissions. For exhibitions entry fee is $25.00 for 1 to 3 submissions. Participants can present up to three submissions per category: Fashion Presentation: The entry fee is $50.00 for 1 to 3 submissions. This category includes designs that will be showcased on the fashion presentation as wearable art pieces. Exhibition: The entry fee is $25.00 for 1 to 3 submissions. This category is for designs that will be displayed as part of an art exhibition rather than worn on the runway. Participants are welcome to submit in both categories but must pay the respective entry fees for each. 2. What is the "100 Paper Dresses, Suits, and Wearable Art Headpieces Challenge and Competition"? The "100 Paper Dresses, Suits, and Wearable Art Headpieces Challenge and Competition" is a creative competition where participants design and create unique wearable art pieces using paper and other recyclable materials. The challenge aims to promote sustainability, creativity, and environmental awareness through fashion and art. 3. Who can participate in the competition? The competition is open to everyone, including professional artists, fashion designers, students, hobbyists, and community members who have a passion for sustainable fashion and art. There are different categories for various age groups and skill levels to encourage broad participation. 4. What materials can be used to create the designs? Participants are encouraged to primarily use paper (newspaper, cardboard, tissue paper, etc.) for their creations. However, they can also incorporate other recyclable and upcycled materials such as fabric scraps, plastic, natural elements, and found objects, provided the designs are eco-friendly and align with the theme of sustainability. 5. What are the guidelines for the competition? Designs must be made primarily from paper or recycled materials. Outfits should be wearable and structurally sound for participants to showcase them during the final event. Participants can enter as individuals or in teams. Each entry must have a brief description of the inspiration behind the design and the materials used. 6. How will the competition be judged? Entries will be judged based on creativity, originality, craftsmanship, use of recycled materials, and how well they reflect the themes of sustainability and environmental consciousness. Prizes include cash awards, art supplies, gift certificates, and opportunities for winners to showcase their work at future exhibitions, parades, and events hosted by The Recycle Challenge and its partners. Yes, there is a nominal registration fee to cover the costs of materials, venue, and organization. Early bird discounts and group rates are available. Some scholarships may also be provided for participants from underrepresented communities. 9. When and where will the final event take place? The final event, featuring a runway show and exhibition of the wearable art pieces, will take place at a designated venue in New Orleans. The exact date and location will be announced closer to the event. Participants will have the chance to showcase their designs in a vibrant, community-focused atmosphere. 10. How do I register for the competition? You can register online through our official website or by contacting The Recycle Challenge team directly.
