ARTISTS-IN-RESIDENCE

Overview

The Recycle Challenge introduces nine-months of Artist in Residence Workshops for teams and solo artists. Artists can choose to participate in residencies that are ten days, or two weeks or monthly solo artists in residency.

Literacy Project International is the nonprofit organization behind the popular program, The Recycle Challenge program, with events? brands such as its Parade & Festival along with Crafting & Recycling Stations. Our mission supports local, national, and international artists, curators, and writers who seek to study, document, and disseminate ideas that deepen our understanding of recycling, upcycling, and repurposing as forms of creative expression and activism. We operate several initiatives aimed at bringing together the community, investigating critical issues, and raising awareness about recycle art. What we do We recycle, upcycle, and repurpose single use items, which reduces the waste that would  otherwise reach the landfill.
