MISSION

Welcome Home Farm is a community-centered space being formed into a land trust for the community, by the community, with designated committees to encourage participation in multiple ways. 

 

Our mission is to combat food scarcity, particularly in New Orleans’ Lower 9th Ward, by providing resources, education, and experiences in sustainable growing. Through events like workshops, volunteer days, community markets, and farm animal care, we aim to connect individuals to the grounding wisdom of the Earth by cultivating and caring for their own food crops.
 

Our vision is to maintain a farm that produces fresh, seasonal crops year-round, including fruits, vegetables, herbs, and more, while sharing the knowledge and skills needed to cultivate them. By fostering self-sufficiency and community empowerment, we aspire to inspire other neighborhoods to create their own gardens and farms, ensuring access to healthy food for all.
